Mike Alvarez and Sam Rebelein returned to Goddard in the World podcast to discuss their recent publications: Mike’s new autoethnography, Unraveling: An Autoethnography of Suicide and Renewal and Sam’s horror novel Edenville. We talk about their books individually and together: how and why they use body horror to enhance their narratives; monsters as metaphors for grief, loss, and trauma; and the act of writing itself and how it can re-traumatize or heal the writer.
